There are several costume differences between the Carrey and Dano versions of The Riddler also, with one of the most obvious being the differences in their masks. His slapstick and energetic performances led to a rush of major roles in quick succession, including an Ace Ventura sequel, Dumb and Dumber and Liar, Liar. After first finding success in the TV sketch show In Living Color, Carrey made the jump to movies with Ace Ventura: Pet Detective in 1994.
It was Joel Schumacher's 1995 movie Batman Forever that saw Carrey step into the Riddler's green bodysuit, starring opposite Val Kilmer's Batman. Nicholson appeared in the first big-screen outing for the Caped Crusader and played Jack Napier/the Joker in Tim Burton's 1989 movie, Batman.
